On January 30 ... ... ... ... .... World Peace Day !!!!!!

"We should be ashamed of rest or have a meal while a man or a woman physically capable of work or without food. " (Mahatma Gandhi," Poverty amidst Plenty ").

The January 30, 1948 was assassinated on national and spiritual leader of India, Mahatma Gandhi, at the conclusion of the World Day of Peace.
also on 30 January the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace (DENIP), an initiative launched in 1964 the inspector of primary education Lorenzo Vidal, for whom "love is better than the hatred, violence better than non-violence and peace better than war. "

The DENIP was recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science in 1976.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, India. He studied law in London and then moved to South Africa to work as legal adviser to an Indian company. He spent 21 years and fought there against the discrimination they were subjected to the Indians.

In 1915 he returned to India and organized nonviolent resistance against colonialism and non-cooperation with the British administration. He was imprisoned on numerous occasions. In 1937 he was the leader of an independence movement able to mobilize and stop millions of Indians. Gained considerable credibility thanks a practicing austerity. Advocated love as the only valid relationship between human beings, and concern for others and caused human behavior is known as Mahatma , name given by the poet Rabindranath Tagore and means "great soul " .

British colonialists imposed as a condition to withdraw its troops, the division of India into two states, India and Pakistan, one Hindu and one Muslim.
After independence in 1947 there were clashes between Hindus and Muslims.
Through a series of hunger strikes succeeded in bringing peace to Calcutta and New Delhi.
In January 1948, while participating in a collective prayer, the leader of nonviolence, was killed in the shooting of a fan.

In a country where politics was synonymous with corruption, Gandhi introduced ethics in this domain through the preaching and example. He lived in unmitigated poverty, never granted privileges to his family, and always rejected political power before and after the liberation of India. This rejection became the leader of non-violence in a unique case among the revolutionaries of all time.

The Legacy of Gandhi.

1 .- POVERTY IN HALF ABUNDANCE OF

We should be ashamed of rest or have a meal while a man or a woman physically fit without working or without food.
You are permitted to the world ... laugh at me because I let go of all property. For me, this detachment has been a positive gain. I would like people to compete with me in my satisfaction. It is the most valuable treasure I possess. - So perhaps it would be valid to say that although poverty preach am a rich man!

Nobody has ever suggested that the oppressor pauperism can lead to anything but moral degradation.
For the poor the economic is the spiritual. Can not provide further stimulus to these hungry crowds. I would make no difference. But if you consider them food entregáis their God. They are incapable of any other thought.
Even in a perfect world we would fail in the attempt to avoid inequality, but we can and should avoid rivalry and bitterness.
The idea of \u200b\u200bclass war does not appeal to me. In India a class war is not only inevitable but can be avoided even if we understood the message of nonviolence. Those who speak of class war as inevitable, have not understood the implications of violence or have not understood only skin deep.
You can not end with the exploitation of the poor by the destruction of a few millionaires but by removing the ignorance of the poor and teaching them not to cooperate with their exploiters. It will also convert to the same operators. I even suggested that ultimately put them both in a situation of equal comrades. The capital itself is not bad, what is wrong is unfair use. The capital, in one way or another, will always be necessary.
The absolute renunciation of all personal possessions is something that very few, even among the common people are able to put into practice. All that can legitimately be expected of the wealthy class is reduced to preserve their wealth and talents in storage and use them to serve society. Asking for more would kill the goose that lays golden eggs.

2 .- RELIGION AND TRUTH

"When I speak of religion does not allude to the formal or the ritualistic, but the religion that lies beneath all religions and that we face to face with our Creator. "

"Sé .. that God would never have met if I had not fought against evil even at the expense of life itself."

"I strive to see God through service to humanity because I know God is in heaven, nor below, but in every one. "
" If a man gets to the heart of their own religion, has also touched the hearts of others. "

Religions are different roads converging on the same point.
¨ What matter if we take different paths to reach the same goal? Actually, there are so many religions as individuals."
"Nobody, not for a moment, entertains the fear that a reverent study of other religions might undermine their faith in itself. The Hindu system of philosophy believes that all religions contain elements of truth itself and prescribes and enforces an attitude of respect and reverence for all. "

" I believe in the truth fundamental of all major world religions. "

" Goodness must be joined to wisdom. Mere goodness is not enough. "(Gandhi)

Gandhi and Nobel Prize Peace

Gandhi never receive the Nobel Peace Prize , although he was nominated five times between 1937 and 1948. Decades later, however, the Committee which administers the Nobel Prize said the injustice of such failure, which he attributed to nationalist sentiments divided they refused such an award to Gandhi.
The Government of India awarded a prize that called the Peace Prize to Mahatma Gandhi . One of those who received this award is the South African leader Nelson Mandela .
That does not mean that, currently, there is much criticism has been given a Nobel Prize Peace to Barack Obama, by his promises and predisposition.

Fortunately, because of what represerntó in life and in his work, the January 30 marks the School Day of Peace and Nonviolence (DENIP) in memory of Gandhi.
In countries with calendars, southern hemisphere this day marks the March 30.

Interestingly, Albert Einstein said that future generations could hardly believe that a man like Gandhi had never existed. The fact is that there was and now, at 62 years after his death, the essence of his message is still alive.
